my brothers were hugely into restoring British sports cars when they were younger, and still do quite a bit.

one of them was restoring old pedal cars from the 1930s/1940s for a while. He actually recreated the graphics from old pictures and made new vinyl stickers to apply after fixing the running gear and bodies.
They're worth a surprising amount of money.

That's sad. People are always talking about patina with antiques.
