Shitty place to sell, still a decent place to buy sometimes. Got an Otterbox Defender for my Iphone 4 for $25 shipped and it is genuine... less than half the price of the same thing retail.

Member since 99'.

Have barely been on it the last few years. Nothing but E-stores selling stuff on there now.

Yes, it used to be cool. Yes, getting bargains was exciting.

I had a 30+ year old set of Buckingham tree/pole climbing gear that I got for free a long time ago and used once. I was missing a $20.00 part and I had no use for the stuff. I put it on Ebay with a Buy it Now price of about $50.00 with a $22.00 shipping charge. I just wanted to get rid of the stuff.........

Somebody bid $0.99 on it and the buy it now price disappeared, it finally sold for $255.00 with the $22.00 shipping additional.

That is my only experience with selling on Ebay. After the fees and shipping I cleared $225.00. I need to hit some garage sales and find some more tree climbing gear

In the late 90s I was able to find a lot of parts on ebay for my '73 Mustang convertible, and at great prices. Not so much anymore.

I still use eBay...You can find some great deals on there...And have used to make a killing on cell phones...

I remember one time my wife says "You need to get rid of those hubcaps (off an old cadillac I had) to make some room." I took a couple pics and sold them in 6 hours on eBay and walked away with $80 after fees and shipping...

Its not what it used to be, but still can find some great deals on there...

They were totally blocked so only 10rds would fit in there.

It certainly was cool to me between 2004-2007 when I was averaging $2500 a month in profit by selling gun parts on it, all but 5 of my 30+ guns were funded by eBay sales.

I still use it to buy certain things, I don't bother selling much anymore, eBay changed the rules and Gunbroker sucks compared to what eBay used to be.

I still shop there sometimes. You can find bargains on certain items still. I just bought a factory/new intake manifold for my car for 70 bucks. it probly would have been close to 500 if i would have bought the same thing from a dealer.

I had used eBay for over 7 years collecting nearly impossible to find classic car parts for Buicks. I can say it paid off for me after spending well over 20K+.

Nowdays I don't use it because I collected all the parts I needed for my resto, but truly once they started forcing everyone to use Paypal I simply don't waste my time going on there. I had my Paypal account hacked years back and a 10K line of credit opened up under my name. It all got worked out but Paypal is one hell of a shady business to deal with when things go bad. I guess I am oldschool and prefer to deal in MO and Cashier's Checks.

You people are insane. Ebay is awesome. If you know where to look and depending on what you need, it might be the only place you can buy it. I can't begin to think of all the deals I've scored there over the years.

I remember when eBay fees weren't 12%, and you were allowed to accept payment by methods OTHER than PayPal.

That's about 15% of all my sales gone.

it's still excellent for hard to find, or used items. I have acquired trumpets, guitars, guitar stuff, suits, sport coats, dress shirts, and tuxedos on ebay.

I got an armani tux for 60 bucks. Got an army suit for 60 bucks. Got many armani sport coats for 60 bucks. Got 4 armani dress shirts for a total of 20. After minor alterations, everything was still cheap. I have several perfectly fitting suits, tuxes and sport coats. I can dress formal or "wealthy" casual for cheap. I can fit in with my multi-millionaire relatives.

You do know that a ton of that shit comes from China right? You have to be careful. Ebay is infested with fake shit from over there.

Around year 2000, give or take, EBay lost its appeal to me. You used to be able to find some serious deals on there. It's became too mainstream. It's not much different than shopping online at any other website today.

I like eBay for the following reason.

1. Generally cheaper than other websites
2. Will ship stuff express post that or the next day.

I get all my DVDs from eBay. Order them lunchtime Monday, they're in my post box by Tuesday. I ordered from a ordinary DVD website once, and it took them over a week to get my DVDs to me.

I know, but this material was very nice/high quality.

Here's how I do it.

My waist size is 32. My body above the waist line is smaller than that. My shoulders are 38. This may be a common size around age 16-18, but most people get much, much fatter. So, no one can wear this size except for poor college kids. So there is no demand.

FWIW, photographers want me to be a model. My senior pictures are still plastered all over the studio where they were done, three years ago. In fact, I had a friend from highschool tell me that she pulled her pants down to take a piss, looked up, and saw my image staring back at her.
