EXCLUSIVE: President Trump may soon issue a pardon for Joe Arpaio, the colorful former Arizona sheriff who was found guilty two weeks ago of criminal contempt for defying a state judge’s order to stop traffic patrols targeting suspected undocumented immigrants. In his final years as Maricopa County sheriff, Arpaio had emerged as a leading opponent of illegal immigration.

I've been hoping he steps in.

Sheriff Joe did a great job for his county.  He was a little too Hollywood, but still a damn good man.

I can and would get behind this.

If I were king, this would have happened within a minute of the verdict and that Judge would be looking for a new country to reside. 

Then put him in charge if INS.

So why hasn't Trump pardoned anybody?  No marines or army guys in prison for war crimes?  Nobody Obamas administration put in jail?

So..I like the idea of a pardon, but thought that there's another option - commuting sentence to zero would be good too because it would shut the left off from their usual screaming and crying.

Seems completely upstanding to open up corruption investigation on his political opponents, judges, county supervisors and staff, reporters, and others who stood against him, right?  Investigations so ridiculous that the grand jury told him to stop because there was no evidence whatsoever.  Lost every single case.  The county attorney that he was doing the scam with got disbarred over it due to the malicious and unfounded charges.  The ensuing lawsuits cost Maricopa County over $45 million to settle.  

That time he also launched a bullshit investigation with a PI of a federal judge he didn't like and the DOJ was hilarious.

Add to that the $100 million or so of sheriff's office funds that he spent illegally.

Lost plenty of lawsuits for racial profiling.

And let's not forget that time he framed some 18 yr. old kid in a supposed assassination attempt on himself in a publicity stunt for his reelection.  That case got settled for a cool $1.6 million.  Quite a bargain.

Maybe it was his agency that left most of their reported rapes and sex crimes completely uninvestigated yet reported them as cleared to juke his crime stats.

Of course there's also the recent contempt of court conviction for blatantly refusing to follow a federal court order because he was continuing to detain people in jail when they had no criminal charges or detainers.  Small constitutional problem with that, I'm told.

He's as corrupt and self-serving as elected officials come.  A fine candidate for a presidential appointment in DC.  He'd fit right in.

The first act would make liberal heads explode.  The second would keep their minds shattered.

Lt Clint Lorance & others at Leavenworth?  I was looking at the Combat Clemency Project and reading up on pardons.  It seems many are worth a look for a pardon.

Not feeling Lorance.  Which one was the crazy one who went off the reservation?  Maybe him if he was as broken as reported.

Sheriff Joe would be a bigger thumb in the eye just because he's a bigger fish.

On the upside, Presidents do usually issue the bulk pardons near the end of their time in office, so be patient.
