Anyone do this job? Have a friend who says he can get me on contractually. They'll give me on the job training and if I toe the mark I'll be able to get off contract status and get the real employment status in a year or two.
I'm talking to him today about it, this would be huge for me and my wife given it pays 3 times what I make now. However never having worked in a refinery, I'm not sure what process operations is. |

Refinery operator jobs are usually pretty good, depending on where you are and such. Pay will be decent to start, but they're really geared towards keeping you there long-term.
You'll start off at the bottom with the crappy work usually, but stick with it for a few years. Could be a good career. Lots of OT during shutdowns and startups and such. ETA: there is no shortage of stuff that can kill you in a refinery. Take the safety training seriously and follow the rules, even if nobody else does. |

I'm all for OT and the schedule doesn't bother me. I can work any shift. My wife wants to be a stay at home mom when we have kids and this job would provide that. |
