I have a stag model 2. I'm thinking of getting an aimpoint pro for it. Will I be able to effectively use the optic with the standard front sight on Stag?

The dot will sit at the tip of the post when it's zeroed. It's a convenient way to check zero as well.
Or you can put the red dot on a raised mount to raise the dot above the post. This is called lower 1/3 cowitness. The former is called absolute cowitness.
