Was U2 there? An accompanying concert video entitled U2 Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky was released the following year. Unlike the album, the film was recorded entirely at the dramatic outdoor Red Rocks Amphitheatre on 5 June 1983. The band's performance of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" from the film has been cited as one of Rolling Stone's "50 Moments that Changed the History of Rock and Roll."

Quite possibly the most beautiful concert venue on Earth. Did you drive up and see the dinosaur tracks near Morrison on your way in? That is on my list. I only live 15 min. from there. Lucky bastard. While I'm not always a fan of Colorado's politics, you all have a truly beautiful state down there. |

I was at the U2 show, Jeez was it that long ago?
The weather was crappy- foggy, rainy, wet. U2 played, said it was their kind of weather, (being from Ireland) the opening acts didn't perform so, U2 and the rest of the acts put on a second show in Boulder at the CU event center the next night used my stub from Red Rocks and saw that show too. saw the Pretenders for their first performance at Red Rocks years later and Crissy Hynde said "So this is the place that made U2 famous." seen quite a few shows at Red Rocks, the last was a couple years ago - the Foo Fighters If you ever get the chance to see a performance there, it's definitely worth the hike to get to your seat (those that have been there, know what I mean) |
