I'm a cheap bastard. Even though you could get a RHEL developer's license for $99 I'm cheap so I run CentOS. Our work servers are all RHEL though.

Now you can skip the $99 and upgrade to a developer subscription for free. Git 'er done!

While you're at it, if you're a Java guy, download a free copy of MODERN JAVA EE DESIGN PATTERNS.

Thanks for the tip.  You get a copy of RHEL, among other things.  My server should be here next week.  I'm sure I'll load a vm of this.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't done anything with RHEL besides KVM implementations but I have a project coming up that uses a mix of RHEL, Solaris, J2EE, Oracle (sigh) and some other bits and pieces and this will come in handy for my personal use when I'm writing specs and other nonsense at home.
