I want a big screen, thin profile, Windows OS, good battery life, good-working Wi-Fi. I will be using it for legal work (drafting and electronic filing mostly with Word), web-surfing, PDF conversions/compositions, and email. Thanks in advance.

ASUS or Lenovo with 17" screen.  I bought an ASUS Gaming laptop with 17" screen with I7 processor and 256ssd and 970 Video card.  Love it.  Use it at work for when im bored.  It screams but was quite costly.

Check Newegg and whats the budget etc, etc

Sager's are the best IMO. They are well designed to stay cool and you can even get them with desktop CPU's.
