Need to get a hard drive reader. Computer died, got a new one and need to transfer the old files.  I have this Hard drive..

but I'm not sure what reader I need.


I'm not sure what all the computer lango is. Just want something to pull the files off it for my new computer.

Ok OP.  How old is the computer?  It's going to depend on what kind of hard drive you have.  If it's SATA or SATA 2 no problem, you can use this.  I have one of these and it's definitely handy.

The dead computer is about 8 yrs old.  The computer I'm transferring to is about 3.

Link he provided shows an ATA 2.5" drive. That's why I linked him to an adapter that will handle 2.5" ata, 3.5" ata, and SATA.

Why doesn't the OP just do what I did? I took a SATA cable and power cable, and hooked it up directly into my motherboard and power supply respectively.

Because the hard drive isn't SATA.
