Wonder if he ever took photos of firemen on duty.
http://www.ajc.com/news/macon-cops-to-be-1304720.html To summerize: Cops waiting on a detective to get back to serve a warrant were waiting behind a building and tossed a football back and forth among themselves. A business owner saw them, took photos, and stated cops were wasting tax dollars.....while in a high crime area......waiting to serve a warrant....
I could see this being a problem if they left their zones, gathered in a secluded area, took off their equipment, and started playing tackle footballl in tshirts......but this is a bit stupid. Seems like their Chief is a real moral booster. |
| Really? I had enough down time/sit and wait time working EMS to finish "war and peace" in three work days and these guys get in trouble for playing while waiting? I could see if there was a massive man hunt going on these officers getting some unpaid vacation but not for waiting on the detective. |

Playing football is much worse than sitting in their cars beating their dicks, which is what they'd be doing otherwise. ![]() Because we all know footballs suck more tax dollars than 6 gas guzzling Crown Vics running. (I know you were being sarcastic.....this is for those that didn't). |

As a former LEO and a former supervisor of emergency personnel one of the things I always, ALWAYS, harped on was: Perception = Reality. No matter where you are, no matter if you're on the clock or not, and even if there's not a policy about it, ask youself this: What would the public think if they saw me doing this? I've seen people disciplined and had to discipline people myself over facebook posts, inappropriate t-shirts, smoking in the wrong place, playing catch, where they chose to park their govt vehicle, and innumerable other random facepalm bullshit. The disciplinary actions were usually minor unless the employee coped and attitude or there was a pattern of bahavior indicating they just didn't get it, just like appears to be the case here. They will get a slap on the wrist and go on with life. You take the check, you accept the rules, including this one.
That said, why anyone would want to be a cop these days is beyond me. |
