No.

Even under "stolen valor" it wouldn't be, as they are not trying to pass themselves off as Marines. They are just using parts of the uniform as a fashion accessory.

I am a Air Force veteran (1993-2003 TSgt/Security Forces) and what those hooligans are doing is WRONG in every sense of the word.  EGAs and Dress Blues are earned and not fashion accesories.  If those to assclowns want to attend Marine Recruit Training and defend the nation then they can wear a uniform.  The upside down stripes are an affront to any NCO.  Not to mention the misrepresentation of a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and several campaign medals.  If I would have seen this in person I may have been arrested for causing a public disturbance.

The first word in the title of this thread was "Rappers" so I knew I wasn't going to like it.  I have absolutely nothing else to say that is COC compliant.

Eh, they appear to have gone out of their way to wear the uniform items in a way that you couldn't mistake them for actual Marines. The guy in the pic has his stripes upside down for Christ's sake. Bad taste yeah, but I don't thing they are trying to claim to be anything they aren't. In fact I think you could say are advertising that they are a couple of ass clowns.

I actually WAS in the military (Army) and I hesitate to wear certain things that might make it look like I'm active. Like my woodland camo still has name tapes, branch tapes, and rank on it, but I don't think I want to put it on the multicam I just got as a civi.

Douche ass rappers could have at LEAST got the rank on right side up.

Fair and free use of a uniform in a performance (live or filmed, as in a movie) shall have at least 1 mistake in it's appearance.  Per DOD guidelines.  Performer and film makers are free to consult their local military public affairs office or contact the main Hollywood PAO office for more information and support.

Well thank you for that. That explains why I always catch little crap wrong. Like the upside down Col. eagles in Iron Eagle. Lol

Obviously from a video shoot, no way they would stroll around town dressed like that.

What song was it for?

I earned mine the hard way.  I'm way too old and fat to disgrace the old uniform and I still have more right to than those low rent thugs.

I remember years ago having words with a 20 something punk rock kid wearing a male dress blue tunic.  Lets just say they walked away looking at me with a cautious stare.

The number of people who've worn surplus uniforms hunting,as casual wear etc is how few? Granted, fatigues rather than dress uniforms but fundamentally the same thing. They are obviously not attempting to impersonate Marines,it's just a side step from the camoflage rappers have been wearing the past decade. No,I don't understand it nor do I care to but I don't think it's really any worse than whatever percentage of guys here that feel the need to wear Multicam to shoot cans and paper: dress up is dress up.

From the looks of things, this is probably part of some sort of video shoot.  A music video or maybe even a movie (yes, these idiots do straight to dvd low budget movies).  At the end of the day they are entertainers and this seems to be for entertainment purposes, I highly doubt they are wearing this as part of their everyday clothing.  It's really nothing to get all that upset about.  It's really no different than actors using a uniform on tv or a movie.
