The good:
Made withen 2,000 of last years pay. Got two deer this year. Took the whole family on a cross country road trip. Attended an Awerbuck shotgun class. Stocked up on Black Hills .223 & lots of mags. Rebuilt a beater 870 into a excellent HD shotgun. Got a Ruger LCP Attended Shot Show Got in lots of time at the range with the 870's and M4's. Wife ran her first triathalon. The Bad: Lost about 30K in my 401K Desk top computer died. Laptops hard drive died. Wife crashed the Mini-van Artritis in my hands and wrists got noticably worse this year, some loss of function in my gun hand. Mid-Back and Right shoulder continue to give me trouble/pain. Over all a positive year. |

I needed something between Good and Meh Kinda sucked.
Voted on the pessimistic side. Ohbummer won the election. Mom had 3 surgeries this year and a heart attack scare (wasn't a heart attack but was still an overnight trip to the ER), but is doing well. Oldest son had a 2 month stretch of incapacitating migraines, but is doing well now. Guy ran a red light and plowed into my truck, but it's ok now. Sold 2 rifles I didn't like, bought 2 that I did. Just had my 18th wedding anniversary, and my wife still loves me... Well shit, I guess the year wasn't so bad. I take it back. -1 for Meh, and +1 to Good |

1st half of the year great (financially). 2nd half, not so much. Wife is a beautician and works on commission. Let's just say it's been very obvious people have been pinching pennies. And in turn, we've cut back drastically. We're healthy, I have a warm house, and food on the table. Can't complain from that aspect at all. Anyone that thinks a trickle up economy is a good idea is a fucking fool (Oblama). Trickle up poverty...
I'm self employed and what is usually a pretty decent time of year for me has been so-so. Luckily my wife is a RN, and picked up a second job working a couple days a week as the school nurse/office assistant at our youngest son's elementary school. Which is cool because we don't have to arrange any child care/rides home for it. |

Got in two fist fights. Never a good thing.
Choke-raped a Mexican gangbanger in southern CA. That was fun. Had surgery for a hernia. Do not want. Got hit while stationary by a drunk driver going around 70. Still fucked up. Resulting nerve damage in my right hand and shoulder will likely put me out of the game in my current line of employment, much to Mrs. Evil's pleasure. The subsequent physical therapy has allowed me to stay home with the kids and catch up on lost time (I travel...a lot). All in all, the last half of the year has consisted of me playing with my kids, throwing things at my wife's fucking cats (with the left hand), surfing Arfcom, bee-slaying and generally enjoying the fruits of my labor for a change. God has been good to me. I should be either crippled or dead by now. My wife loves me. My kids love me. The cats get out of my way when I'm limping to the latrine. What more does a man need? Merry Christmas, Arfcom. Count your blessings, fuckers. |
| I wouldn't call it the best year ever, but it was a very good one. I spent seven months (the beginning of February until the end of August) on elective sabbatical (i.e., voluntary vacation). Went to Europe. Did a lot of shooting. Took a lot of side-trips. Took my dog to the dog-park every day. Read a fair number of books. Did a lot of goofing off and some work around the house. Etc, etc. Decided to quit goofing off toward the end of summer and landed a great job with booming prospects. |
