It seems a little precious and deliberate on the part of the producers - and perhaps the message isn't support for interracial marriage (which AFAIK is a nonissue to God and everybody else), but for "blended" (i.e., married, divorced, remarried "families" with kids) families, since I think the chances of a black/white couple having one child who looks like Manute Bole and one who looks like Larry Bird are pretty remote.
"Mixed" marriage is IMO a complete nonissue; however, promoting the normalization of divorce is another matter. |

Not really the same point. We know several interracial couples and we've taken our kids out with them. I just object to how it was handled in the DVD. By the way, I wouldn't mind if my daughter dated/married a minority as long as he was a good provider and treated her with respect. Those are the same expectations that I would have of a white man. |

Baby Einstein stuff is a load anyway. Just read to him. Heck, it worked for Einstein, Bohr, Hilbert, Turing, Newton, Galileo, and everyone else throughout history. But, the real issue I take here is that a DVD intended for a baby showed a man and a woman in bed together.

It has gotten so pervasive, this PC propaganda, that I have to pre-screen all of the children's books and videos that my wife gets for our children. An acquaintance of mine refers to all of the excessive references to race mixing as "mandatory n*****s". It is really being pushed like crazy, especially to children.
I know people who go out of their way to ensure that their kids are exposed to this. .....and because some people get all bent out of shape when you criticize their PC agenda, I will tell you in all honesty, that I am one of the few white people in my family. Nothing against any other race, but by golly, this PC stuff has gotten out of hand. |

The socialist left and PC are trying to completely dismantle this country. It makes me want to vomit!
 It seems like everything on TV now is what I like to call "engineered diversity". Interracial this, gay that, etc. etc..... Yeah, I know it's out there, but does EVERY thing we watch have to have token interracial relationships and gays prancing all over the place? It doesn't work that way in REAL LIFE. Most groups tend to stay with their own kind, and prefer to be in communities with their own kind, not this interracial, gay, gun-hating, religion-bashing Utopia that the propagandists shove down our throats all the time!

You're catching some flack for this post Midnight - flack that is misplaced...
Most people posting "WTF is wrong with you stuff" are looking at this single example. However, when taken in sum with all the other children's shows and the PC stuff they push, it matters. Yet, in a vacum, something like this would not matter or really be significant. For example, they have been really really pushing all the Spanish and South American heritage and culture on all the kids shows on Sprout and whathaveyou. Which I am fine with, but it is to such an extreme you feel like your are banged over the head with it constantly. For example, Dora the Explorer (it is on non-stop) Diego, the little kid from Guatamala that cooks everyday, and all the other "Hispanic" inserts and themes in the shows. Maybe it is just these shows trying to market to the latino population. Maybe it is the producers trying to push their multicultural agenda. Probably a bit of both. The end result though occurs when you see things like you described you think they are trying to "force" all of this PC stuff on you. |

My dad’s step daughter is married to a black guy. That in and of itself is not strange, and I have no issues with it (though my dad does! HAHA!). What IS strange is that her four closest white female friends ALL have black husbands/boyfriends.
 All of them prefer to go with black guys and they are a big circle of interracial couples. I guess they hang with who they identify with.  I wouldn’t say I’d never date a black woman. I would say that I do prefer white (and European), Hispanic, and asian women’s looks to black women’s, but that’s just me. There are some beautiful black women out there, but ironically, most are half or a quarter white.

It seems to me that this is something kids should be learning about from their parents and not from a DVD.
If you feel that there is nothing wrong with interracial relationships, teach your kids that. If you think that homosexuality is okay, teach your kids that. However, you should not have to explain to small children about interracial relationships and homosexuality because there are not children's books, shows, and DVDs that don't feature these ideas. The fact is that plenty of people in this country think that interracial relationships are wrong. They aren't all white people either. It's bad enough that those of us who aren't ultraliberal are made out to be bigots for not having homosexual friends or not wanting to marry our daughters off to the first available black guy. Aiming such propaganda towards children is bullshit. |

I believe that interracial = gay in that there are still people today that don't agree with either, and it's liberal PC bullshit that demands that everyone not only accept it, but embrace it. Whether it by by placing it in TV shows for kids, for adults or whatever. Not everyone agrees with with gays or interracial marriage, nor do they have to, even if that upsets you, or the PC liberal crowd. |
