You know, we could have had him going for a bit, but NO you had to tell him the truth in the first post.

I am bummed about ROME too. It is starting to get very interesting. I didn't get into the show at first, but now I'm hooked.

The one thing HBO does that pisses me off. At least announce that your skipping a week in advance.

Minor quibbles:

both Cassius and Brutus committed suicide.  Well, technically Cassius had one of his henchmen kill him.  The show had them both fall in battle.

Another quibble:

when the legions were closing, they didn't throw their pilii.  They could've at least CGI'd that in.  Would've been a nice effect.

One final quibble:

The actual First Battle of Philippi was a draw.  Octavians forces were defeated by Brutus, and Cassius was defeated by Antony, and the worst losses were suffered by Octavians forces. But silly Cassius, thinking the whole thing was lost, committed suicide.

At the end of last week's episode, when they show what's coming in the next episode, they did say it would be two weeks. Never occurred to me it was because of the Asshat awards though.

Is that why it wasn't on?

Do people really still watch the Academy awards?
