When I try to view video clips, windows media player comes up like it is going to play the clip, then an error message comes up and shuts down my connection. If I log on to a family members screen name "user account", I don't get this problem.

What could be causing this?

(I posted this in Urban Commandos and got about 4 replies, three of them asking what a "screen name" was. )

ETA this is the message I get:

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Sounds like a missing codec. Does it say a specific codec is the error?

I don't know. I'm not a computer guy. I wouldn't know what one looked like.

Try downloading the latest version of Media Player.

ETA: Also, does it happen on ALL video clips or only on a certain one..

A screen name is what AOL used so that different family members could have their own screen names.
There. Now we all fucking know.
