If you are subleasing a condo and the actual condo owner fails to pay the association dues can the association force the subleaser out of the condo without a formal eviction proceeding? A relative of mine in MI had been paying rent to the condo owner but the owner quit paying association fees. The condo association has given my relative 3 days to vacate the unit. Does my relative have any rights or are they screwed? Thanks for any input.

Varies by state.

Your buddy has recourse against the condo owner only.

30 days from when the judge makes a decision.

How long it takes him to make that decision, is up to you.

Out here they can foreclose on your property and sell it.
