Yesterday I purchased A Nissan Frontier 06' 2wd 4cyl ext cab.  As an OTR truck driver I am gone for anywhere from 4-6 weeks at a time.  During this time it will be parked in a garage. Is there anything I should be doing that is different from normal to keep this truck in good shape or am I needlessly worrying over the significant down time this truck will be seeing?

That's not too bad of a downtime.I'd keep the fuel tank full with some stabil in it.Also when you use it,make sure you drive it around enough to get the motor hot.Not just to the corner store and back then parked for another month. You want to burn up any moisture/condensation in the motor and exhaust.

This.

The hard part is metering the Stabil when you refill that 3/4 tankful.

I'd unhook the battery to..just to be sure.

when I store my car for the winter, I fill the fuel tank, put fuel stabilizer in it, take the weight off the suspension, remove the battery and throw a cover on it.

What about throwing a bottle of HEET into the tank?  Waste of time?

Isn't that the water-absorbing-alcohol stuffs?

If so, it wont stop/slow the gas from 'going bad'

Gasoline is like Coca-cola, it starts to decompose about 30-60 days after manufacture.  Gas evaporates out a lot of components, eventually concentrating a varnish like material and non-combustibles.

You can get it close enough

I didn't say 'impossible'.

There shouldn't be too much problem as long as it is driven well as soon as you can when you get back.
Highway speeds or let it warm and get to decently high RPMs to continue and burn up any moisture that could settle while it is sitting.
