I have a Nissan 350Z with a manual transmission. I recently had the transmission fluid drained and replaced. The last couple of days when I've been driving it, it kinda seems like it is a little harder to shift and just barely grinding (like one click) when I shift into second gear and sometimes when I shift into third. Is this a result of them not putting enough fluid in, or is it a result of them not using the correct fluid? |
That is a syncromesh tranny I believe. I think they require a specific fluid, and possibly some sort of friction modifier. |
It didn't hurt anything. Just drain, and replace with the correct fluid, drive, and repeat. |
Really? Last one I had used ATF, anyways, 80-90 should be OK as long as you're in a temperate climate zone. Pull the fill plug and check to see if it was filled to the bottom of it. |
