Whats the longest period of time a human can go without eating anything before it starts causing health problems?

Me?

6 hours.

ETA: Define "health problems" and your patient population.

The body will really start breaking down muscle after 3-4 days.

Check out youtube. There is this jesus chick that did it for 40 days.

She looks like a skeleton afterward.

Last year I did a 4or 5 day one. Pretty weird experience. Tough mentally.

I have no appetite at all and the sight of food is making me sick.

Methinks you have bigger concerns than "how long can I go without food," like, say, "why do I have no appetite, and why is the mere sight of food making me sick?"

Its just depression dude. I know it will be gone one day, but for now I just cant eat anything.

I don't want to end up passing out driving to work, that's why I asked.

It may not be depression.  See a doctor.

Oh. Well, passing out can happen a heck of a lot sooner than 3-4 days.

Depends on how low your blood sugar is getting, or if you're drinking enough water, etc.

ETA: Do what others here suggest. Go work out, then eat a bacon cheeseburger.

ETA: Sprinkle the burger with MSG, too.

I did two weeks after my divorce. Just didn't care about eating (I might have had a couple chips and a piece of bread or two). Started me on losing a shit ton of weight and working out.

I keep telling my wife I am going to divorce her so I can lose it again.

A lot of parasites can secrete chemicals that make you avoid eating.

You probably got a worm, dude.

Health/protein drinks. You'll probably be able to keep those down.

If you have sufficient fat and electrolytes stored in your body and drink plenty of water even a 'non-obese' person can go about 3 weeks without significant loss of muscle mass.  Ketosis will set in fully after 72 hours and you will start to feel more alert and not hungry.  You may not feel hungry for another 3 to 4 weeks while your fat stores are being eaten up.  Vigorous physical activity can be harmful since your body is operating at a very low level.
When you start to feel hungry after a few weeks then it is an indication that you have used up your fat stores and your body is genuinely starving and rapidly starting to feed on your muscles and internal organs.  Best to end a fast before this happens.

Thanks, I'm glad you responded. I was worried about how long I had till I have to force myself to eat. Its only been a couple days but I had no idea how long I could go. I just have no desire to eat anything.

I've done 3 days.  Day 2 was pretty hard.  Day 3, was like, meh.  I was dragging ass a bit on day 3 though, just not very hungry by that point.
