Has anyone heard if they will be using a Doug La Follette calender processing applications? The law gives them 45 days from the date they receive the application, so are they going to use real days or business days? Lets say I pop it in the mail 11/1/11 they receive it 11/4/11 45 days would be December 19th, but 45 La Follette days wouldn't be until January 11th if my caclulation is right. 45 weekdays plus 3 holidays. Curious anyone in the know? |

I think business days, but I'm not sure. It depends on your county, and from what I believe, once the FBI returns your background check, the gun board decides at their next meeting.
Most gun boards meet once a month, and if they receive everything two days after their monthly meeting, they will review everything a month later at their next. This I can not be sure on, but it makes the most sence to me. The county clerk may be able to tell you when they meet. I am waiting also....... |
