no because there they are a food, distubing as it is. here Chickens are food. cats are pets. the rules of civility vary according to location.

BigDozer66: The point is not that people eat cat's in other parts of the world, it the fact that inflicting pain on an animal for pleasure is wrong.
Dog is a tasty dish. Nothing wrong with that. Torturing a dog (or any other animal) is wrong. VERY wrong. wiggy762: yep, time and time again it has been shown that serial killers usually started off by killing/torturing animals. Av. |

Many of the kids who have perpetrated school shootings have also had a past history of torturing animals. When you see this kind of behavior in a person there is a good chance you are dealing with a sociopath.

The question isn't what some areas of the world consider 'acceptable' foodsources to be, but rather, the question is the actions of this moron.
Forget for a moment it was a kitten... instead focus on the fact this sub-human burned it alive. Doesn't matter if it was a cat, chicken, or whatever... the point is he tortured it... people like this walk the thin line of society and seem to be capable of acts of depravity and cowardness unimaginable to more 'normal' members of society... I'd think that moving on to human beings would be a natural progression for this assclown... |

Having done extensive serial killer research for a novel, Yes, Most serial killers have a past that includes torturing and/or killing animals. Frequently, the Serial killer begins his "training" on animals as symbols of the actual humans he kills as he matures. The whole cycle of killing to them is concluded by the killing. Firestarting and bed-wetting are also associated with adolescent conduct disorder and the kind of anti-social personality seen in serial killers.
