RIP, Marine.... Quoted:
I am guessing veteran, salute is too good to be a poser, but could use a little work To be fair, he probably is an Air Force Vet....
I've been to a few occasions where I could of saluted and even thought about it, but ended up not doing it because it just feels weird saluting while not in uniform. Anyone else feel line that? eta: despite my lack of a tank, I am an Air Force Veteran. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Sometimes I feel like that but I do it anyway. I guess I feel like I've earned it. |

Looks like a good and proper hand salute to me. I'm guessing a Veteran. Edit: And even if he's not, he's trying to show respect. I won't fault him for that. This RIP Marine; be rest assured that your final flight was with someone who showed you the respect you deserved. |

The pilot is standing at attention and rendering a proper salute. God rest our fallen Marine. By the pilots presentation and body posture I would venture he is also a Marine and giving due respect. Also fitting for a Marines final plane ride be given by another Marine. But, could also be a good civilian that cares which I have no problem with either. though most civ's don't salute like Marines. |

I'd probably stick to POA, as I do with the Anthem. It's what I learned. (Also it's cool to see other Veterans at sporting events at POA) Saluting out of Uniform to me would be as awkward as saluting uncovered. Pilot looks like a Marine. Looks like a burly SOB as well. |
