Will a 75 Watt lightbulb work in a 60 Watt lamp? Have to replace a bulb and only have 75's, the old one was 60. I know next to nothing about electricity besides that it's a good thing.

The only issue is that you need to make sure the fixture is rated to handle a 75-watt bulb.  It's stamped on there somewhere.

If it isn't, then don't.

It will work. The maximum wattage rating is to prevent overheating. Your house might burn down.
