I've never posted a photo on this forum.  What is the best way.  I tried the photo server tab, but it is down at the moment.

You should get a membership... support the site.

Didn't know that was a requirement, but I'll be happy to.  I tried to go into the "Team memberships" part, and when I clicked on the link about purchasing memberhsips, I get a link down warning.  What's up?

The photo hosting server is for team members. Did you recently join? I dont think the photo server will be back for another couple weeks.

You don't need to be a member if you have the picture hosted somewhere else.  In other words, if you are posting a picture from somewhere else on the web (your own server or someone elses) - you just type the url in - with {img} in front of it, and {/img} behind it - except you use the square bracket instead of the squiggly ones.

If you become a member, you can hsot pictures on the ar15 servers - but ironically that function is not available right now, since the site upgrades are still in progress.

Okay.  I have the pics in my documents.  I can wait until all is working, but I don't have problem with joining.  I've really enjoyed this site.

You were supposed to let him get a membership first... then tell him that.

I think there are also a number of sites around that will let you hsot pictures for free (in other words, you register on those, and they allow you to upload your picture form your hardrive to their server, and then you can type in the url from that server between the {img} tags.

Unfortunately, I don't knwo what those sites are (since I can host things on the university's servers), but I'm sure others here can tell you.

Try Geocities. Although they are not too keen on you hosting files on there to be a storage for another site, but I don't think posting on here counts.

There you go again, giving away secrets.... just don't mention the free beer, the hookers, or the fire truck rides for members only. Then we'll get flooded.

I've joined via Paypal.  When does my memberhsip show up and what will be different on my computer?

You will see an avitar and "Team Member" under your name and your membership level will be displayed in your profile.  If you joined by paypal did you e-mail your board name so GB knows who sent the payment in?

Once things are fully up and running you can choose an avatar as well... right now the photoserver is down so nobody's avatar is showing... dammit.

You also get access to members only club house... and pie.

And you're automatically eneterd into drawings and such.

Nothing new yet.  How long does it take before my memberhsip is registered?
