I read in Police Magazine where there were 4,000 pistol packing police at a meeting of British Commonwealth Leaders (leaders of former British countries and Britain. The funny thing was most of the police were issued just one bullet (1) and most of the rest were issued NO BULLETS! They had nice polymer clubs.

"I'd love to protect you Prime Minister Howard, however you screwed us over with your gun control laws."

"Hows that?"

"See this Glock 17?"

"Yeah. Your a cop. You should have it."

"Fine. But where the hell is the ammo?"

"Ammo?!?"

Either they figure that there's a limited number of bad guys, or they're taking a clue from the US foreign policy guys who put our Marine brothers in Lebanon with empty mags in their '16's.

This is a result of the "You don't want to shoot anybody do ya? Good, you don't need a gun!" mentality.
This is not just some people's viewpoint - this is a official viewpoint in many organizations.

Why would police in Australia need bullets? Didn't all law abiding citizens have to turn their guns in a few years ago?

They also issue them all squad cars, but don't give them any gasoline. [rolleyes]
