It doesn't seem to be enjoying a DNS forward from a lot of areas. Odd.
I can access with no issue - obviously - but most people I know no longer can. |
|
Change your password if you can still login, as others have said it may be compromised shortly.
Use a burner password for now. |
|
It is odd. I cannot access from any NordVPN server, even in other countries. And that is using direct the IP address.
But I still access it with my ATT DSL......for now. |

This was all because of the Mark Larue thread, right?

Quoted: ... my devices all open ARFCOM just fine View Quote Here is the way I understand it (if I am wrong, well, its worth what you paid for it..lol)... DNS is usually cached at multiple levels... so the device you are currently using works now because somewhere along the line the domain name and IP address are cached. Eventually it will drop out of cache and you will no longer be able to resolve "ar15.com" The servers are still online, that is why you can get to AR15.com using cached DNS, host file entries, or using the IP address. The team is most likely setting up "ar15-backup.com" with another registrar to get an active domain name with SSL certs up and running. |

Can someone who understands the interweb explain this to me?
Wouldn’t a big website like Ar15.com “own” the domain name? Why are they beholden to godaddy? |

Quoted: Can someone who understands the interweb explain this to me? Wouldn’t a big website like Ar15.com “own” the domain name? Why are they beholden to godaddy? View Quote I think they are blocking DNS which resolves ar15.com to an IP address. You type in ar15.com in your browser and your computer doesn't connect because it doesn't now the IP address(es) that resolve to the human language AR15.com servers. |

I can’t change my password or email. Keeps sending me to ar15-backup
I had to change my dns to a different dns because spectrum or Google dns would not route me here. |

For those that need a bit of hand holding, access your router's admin/settings, and under router settings, change your DNS to OpenDNS using 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 .

View Quote Forgive me for trying to do this in one sentence. Actual websites are located at IP addresses, eg. 192.168.1.1, and when you type in a URL like iloveanimecatgirls.net the DNS service connects that text to the number based IP address and allows you to connect to the site. |

This site has been wiped out all day for me. Untill I found the backup and only by using DuckDuckGo.
