I recently went through a promotion process at my agency. It consisted of a written test, psych eval and an oral interview with filmed scenarios. After the first day when I was leaving, I saw a set of interview questions beside a copier machine. After reading the first 6-7 lines in the first question I quickly determined they were interview questions. I grabbed the copies and went to the office of the individual in charge of the process and he was gone for the day. All of the Admin were gone for the day and I took the questions home with me. I never read the questions and told me spouse about the snafu. She read the questions and I told her I did not want to know what was on the sheet. The next day I took the sheets to the Capt in charge and informed him what happened. He said the questions were preliminary questions and they had been changed. Half the candidates had already gone through the interview process. He told me to forget the incident. I went through the interview process. I later told my spouse the questions I answered and she said they were on the original sheet. I know I did the right thing (who wants a promotion if you have to cheat to get it?). Would anyone here done anything different? |
