[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Problems Shooting with a Scope

I got a 10/22 that is sighted in cause my wife can hit stuff with the scope, but I cant. My problem is I cant hit anything Guess I shake to much and see it in the rectical. Anyone else terrible when it comes to shooting a scoped gun and advice to get use to shooting with a scope.

My girlfriend has problems, but she is right handed and left eye dominant.

Well, if you can shoot well with iron sights, there's no reason you should be missing with a scope. Try some sandbags to stabilize the rifle.

Is your eye relief proper? I know it may seem like a dumb question, but you never know.

Loosen up on the rifle. You're seeing the movement through the scope and over compensating.

or just with that particular scope/rifle?

What power scope is it?

If your using a .22, I wouldn't think you would be shooting over 100 yards. If you have a hi-powered scope, say 9X or above things are going to move around a lot at a close distance, it doesn't take much movment. I use a fixed X4 on my .22's. They are much more forgiving.

Seriously, I have always had this problem. If it is that much of a problem for you learn to shoot left handed.

Seriously, I have always had this problem. If it is that much of a problem for you learn to shoot left handed.

I am the same way, and can't hit anything with open sites. Just look forward and take the site pic with the crosshairs.
