Looking at getting some more equipment, specifically a dumbbell set in the 3lb to 25lb range. www.gtechfitness.com seems to have a pretty good price on things but it never hurts to have others check too. I would kinda like to know how they rate on pricing in general and pricing in regards to dumbbell set. Probably a Troy set as I can't see paying for the York name. And when looking around remember that they include shipping in the price.

Why 3-25? That's kinda light. You'd probably outgrow it quickly. I bought a set of Powerblocks for P90X, and they're the cat's meow. They're not cheap, but they're very reasonable compared to hex dumbbells, they're made in the USA, and they can go from 2.5-50 lbs in 2.5 lb increments. You can buy an adder set to get it up to 90 lbs when you're ready. I paid $406 OTD from a local place and I consider it money well spent. They're the most compact, easiest to use, and most adjustable dumbbells you can get. Buy once, cry once. |

Just my opinion, but I think adjustable DB's are crap. I like solid iron that can take a hard drop onto a concrete floor and will last forever. I didn't ask for for any opinions on what I am buying or why someone thinks I should buy something else. FYI I've competed in both power lifting and Olympic lifting and no I won't ever out grow using 3-25lb dumbbells. I use them for very specific shoulder exercises to maintain flexibility and range of motion. Heavy isn't always better. Or smarter. If anyone wants to actually go to the web site, see the prices, and comment on them that would be great. Generally running between $250 and $400 depending on style and if they come with a rack. |

I don't see how he had an attitude. He asked for a specific question and got a generalized answer meant for someone who has no idea what they're doing/what they want.
Unfortunately I cannot help, just didn't see anything wrong with his posts. Also yea I'm sure he's raging out eating all of those abombs as we speak |

Its as if the low weight of the dumbbell set equaled lack of experience. Would Eazy have given the same response if I had said I was looking at a set that was 55lbs to 100lbs? Maybe, as he seems to like his Powerblocks, but it reallyhad nothing to do with my question. I want to know what people think of the prices this website has in regards to the dumbbell set that I'm looking to buy. I already know why I want it and how to use it.
That being said I'd like it if Easy would check out the prices on the website and give me his opinion on the prices they have as it sounds like he has bought weight equipment before and would be able to say if he thought the prices were good or bad. Sorry if what I wrote came across harsh to you Easy. And as to doing steroids...Never. Just because someone competes in lifting doesn't mean they needed steroids to get there. Competitive lifter = steroid user? Get real. What this boiled down to was Eazy making an assumption and giving an answer based on that. If he had a question he should have asked it, I would have answered it, and then he could have given me what info he had on the question I was asking. I hope that he still could give me his opinion on the question I was asking because that would help me. At least he was using his brain and trying to help with his assumption. |

It's called humor. Right, wrong, or indifferent; You came off like a dick in your first response and got called on it. To answer your question, it doesn't look like a bad price to me. I still think you may be able to haggle locally to avoid that retarded shipping charge. I am a cheap bastard, and there happens to be a guy locally that buys old gym equipment and resells it for pretty cheap. Apparently, this is a common practice so you may try looking on Craigslist locally. Good luck on the purchase! |

Check craigslist. You can sometimes find some outstanding deals on weightlifting equipment.
I got a complete set of dumbbells from 35-75 lbs with a rack for $150 a while back in response to a "wanted" ad that I posted. I sold some of the dumbbell pairs that duplicated what I already had and it ended up costing me $50 net. |
