Finally watched it last night.

I liked it, it wasn't as good as the 1st movie, but pretty entertaining. I don't have much of an issue with the predators or any of that stuff, as much as the doctor - completely stupid character and kind of silly to think the predators would have understood him, let alone put him on the planet as game. |

It was better than I thought it would be. Nice to see an AA-12 in a movie.
The worst one by far is Predator: Requiem; Filmed almost entirely in the dark (we watched it with every light turned off and still had trouble making out the action). Everyone dies, no one to root for, and indecipherable action. |

I wish there was more of a back story or insight into RoachMan/BugMan. Was he like the HogDawgs that the Predators used? Or was he dropped as another toy for them to play with? Plus SniperBabe was the worst shot with a pistol when the Dags showed up. Plus they should have known that the Doc was a baddie. They were all killers except for Family Practitioner?  As a whole, I did like the movie and bought it in BluRay. Mighty Mo |

If you were creating a hunting preserve for deer, would you make it a terrain like a deer lives in and is comfortable in, or one completely foreign to the deer? I took the landscape in that spirit...which makes sense. |

I didn't actually see Morpheus biting the dust though. He almost had a cameo-grade appearance. AVPR was awesome! Loved that one! It was just brutal! First one sucked though... Ole Morpheus got blown the fuck up! Would have liked more back story on him though. |

As a whole, I did like the movie and bought it in BluRay. Mighty Mo From imdb the Bug guy was a prototype for the original Predator. Yup, I believe that Jean Claude Van Damme was supposed to be the original Predator. I couldn't even imagine that after watching Predator.

I liked Predators too, but I totally disagree on the AvP and AvP:R movies. Absolute shit those movies were. My brother and I grew up watching and rewatching the Aliens and Predator movies. Read most of the books and comics, and they fucking raped the material. The wolf predator in Requiem is the only saving grace for that movie. He was fricken awesome. What a shame it was, we walked out of the movie shaking our heads man.

The difference is the warriors battle in huge numbers while the hunters arrive in small parties and wreck shop individually. A single elder takes several untested young warriors to a hunt. Those who kill the "hard" game (xenomorphs) and survive are marked by the elder with his symbol as official hunters. They showed this in AVP but they fucked it up since he marked himself instead of an elder marking him. The more rudamentary the weapon used to kill, the more honor it gets you. It's a good explanation for why the predator in the original didn't run in and plasmacast the fuck out of Arnold and his team, instead of picking them off one at a time. After you're marked by an elder you can hunt by yourself. The process they use to seed a planet with xenomorphs takes some time so they hunt other things while they wait. |
