I think www.mini14world.com has a list of serial numbers by year of manufacture.

Unless its a GB model (Factory Flash Supressor And Bayonet Lug) There is no such thing as a "Pre-Ban Mini" They were never banned. The mini 14 is not an assualt weapon as defined by law. If you add the above mentioned items you may have some trouble on your hands. The date of manufacture has ABSOLUTLY nothing to do with the status of being "Pre-Ban" If its not a GB.

Here is a GB

Actually, it's not. That's another Mini-14 someone has put a folder on. Which, if the was manufactured before the ban, could have been added beofre '94. So, what's the problem?

Like they're ever going to try and start charging you with preban features on a preban gun, and hope that the fact that you MIGHT not have done it pre '94, even though the gun existed then, is convincing.

That's just paranoia.

Uh...Actually it is. The fact that it has the Factory Flash and Lug makes it a GB. The Factory folder was removed.

Actually, that IS a GB model. It's determined by the GB barrel, with a factory flash suppressor, a bayonet lug, and a short sight radius.

GBs were available with a standard stock, as well as with a folding stock. The one pictured has a Butler Creek side-folder.

My bad. I've seen the aftermarket FH before, but faking the lug would be hard.[:I]
