Police just showed up at my door. My dad collapsed in a wal mart and hit his head hard. My dad had a heart attack less than a year. My mom did not know my cell number so the cops found me. She has no idea what is going on but things don't look good. My wife and I are heading up to the hospital and hour away now.

My dad died at 6 am peacefully. He was 67. Massive heart attack.

Vietnam vet and a hell of an awesome father.

ETA

I found his DD214 and his medals.

National Defence service medal, vietnam Service medal, 2 Bronze stars, vietnam Campeign medal w/ Device 1960, 1 0/3 bar, Army commendation medal, sharpshooter(M-14, Marksman(45 Pistol), Purple Heart.

I can't believe he is gone. I'm going through his things and hearing him talk about where he got them or what for.

Prayers. My dad lives 12 hours away by plane and has had a pace maker for several years now. This sort of situation is one of my greatest fears.
