I have had this up for a while, I liked the other kitty too but I wanted
something more suited to my own taste in firearms... My daughters like it  thats the most important thing

Harriers from VMA-231.
I've worked on these birds, and saw the one in front of the Capitol building when on boot leave back in '91 during the Desert Shield/Storm parade. Little did I know that I would be working on it a few months later....  I did the squadron markings on the aircraft in the following pics....  THis was in Mostar, Bosnia in the summer of 1998...I was back at the hooch when this pic was taken... THe bird on the right had it's rudder replaced not long before the pic was take. We were deployed with HMM-264  The houses in the background were mostly bombed out. People were still living in them. THe countryside in Bosnia is beautiful, even though it has been ravaged by the war... |
