A local fun shop has these on sale for $669. That seems like a low price for a complete AR with a quad rail, and alloy lower.

My Mossberg 590 runs great, but I know nothing about Mossberg ARs.

I wouldn't. The company makes good shotguns but the rifles leave something to be desired. At the price you might find an sw mp15, bushmaster or dpms. They just have a poor rep for accuracy in their bolt guns and some of the .22s they sell are just awful.

Call cdnn 800xx588xx9500. Ask them if they have anything in the price range. Also check your local walmart. IIRC they had some ars in your price range.

Thanks. Nice review.

Before this, I'd never seen a factory-built AR with a free-floating barrel for less than $700.

Let me add that I have read that 1 person had an issue with a Mossberg barrel that the chamber was marked 5.56 but really measured .223.

Mossberg fixed the problem for free last I heard, but just letting you know before someone else post/refers to it. Mine was perfectly fine.
