I've seen the American flag from the World Trade Center used in a couple of ceremonies now (Super Bowl XXXVI, SLC Winter Olympics) and it bothers me that they're parading it around with two large tears in it.

Please, guys: if you're going to display the flag in public, FIX IT!  We don't need to see the damage to know that it survived an attack.  Or if you want to leave it "as is" for historical purposes, put in a display case at a museum and use an intact flag for ceremonial purposes.

The flag is a symbol of our country.  If the country is recovering from the 9/11 attacks, so should the flag.

It was very moving to see that flag after what it and the country had been through. I glad they did it and should never repair it. It's a historical artifact. I will agree now it should be preserved somewhere with all the honors it deserves.

I'm sure this displaying is just temporary.  Give it a little more time and it will be placed someplace with honor.
