1. Fix the potholes! I mean I'm surprised all these little cats haven't torn all their wheels off with these holes that lead to China!
2. What the hell is with the stop signs where they should not be? On ramps, middle of the road? WTF? |

Well this is refreshing. A southerner (if you can call VA that) telling Yankees how they ought to do shit up north.
I like it. |

When you decide to build a city in the shape of a fucking triangle, you're gonna have some extra stop signs and weird ramp configurations.

Just be glad Marquis Duquesne lost, he would have fucked things up even worse because everything would be metric and ill-tempered. George Washington was a surveyor, so he probably is the one to blame, he just didn't tell anyone that the maps were all prank ones he made to punk General Braddock. |

MD, for example, might be socialist workers utopia and taxed accordingly, however you can always tell the difference in the quality of the road surface when you pass from PA to MD. NJ, OTOH, manages to be both a socialist workers paradise with shittier road surface than PA. |

I've never understood the it's PA so let's put stop signs at the end of the on ramp thing. Just where you need to be accelerating, you have to stop.
Five years I lived in oilcity pa, and every day I wondered why the hell even have a Dairy Queen in Franklin if they didn't have burgers and were closed half the year. |

Pa. has the highest gas tax around, and the worst roads. But to be fair, it was a rough winter and most of the roads are in for a beating when the thaw really hits for good. We refer to it as chuckhole season here. |

Most people nowadays are also too stupid to comprehend "yield" signs, which does not mean " cut the guy off in the main flow of traffic". You want to see some really hideous roads, get on Rt70 in Washington PA. The state of that road is criminal. Lots of accidents this winter, probably because of the deep potholes in the right lane. |

Philly here (talk about a large pot shithole ).
Any area of the state can argue for the "most potholes in the state" award. PA roads have perennially scored as the 48th or 49th worst in the nation. But not to worry, fellow citizens. The huge gas tax hike that passed last year coupled with our new socialist millionaire governor (with his new budgeted tax hikes) are sure to fill every pothole in the state. |

I've never seen anyone actually stop, but they slow to a crawl trying to get on the highway...I just don't get it. there are a ton of stop signs at the end of onramps in western PA. You guys live out east. the thread title clearly says Pittsburgh. Here is an article from wiki about I70: For 37 miles between the eastern end of its concurrency with I-79 in Washington and the western end of its concurrency with the Pennsylvania Turnpike in New Stanton, I-70 has several dated design features. The median narrows to the point that there are no shoulders between the median barrier and the passing lanes on both sides. On- and off-ramps at many of the interchanges are substandard in both length and geometry, which requires vehicles to decelerate in the travel lanes before entering the off-ramps, and also necessitates the use of stop signs on the on-ramps instead of yield signs. Several overpasses do not meet minimum clearance requirements, which has resulted in damage to, and from, overheight trucks. Total reconstruction efforts are ongoing that will upgrade most of this segment of I-70 and its interchanges to modern Interstate standards, and various projects are scheduled through the early 2020s. |
