Ok, maybe I'm not sensitive enough or something, but there are a couple of guys I work with that wear pink dress shirts on a regular basis. Am I the only one that sees something really, really wrong with that?

You should hear their explanations.

"It's not pink, it's salmon." Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

"My wife picked it out for me." ooooookaaaaaay. So, don't wear it.

"I'm secure in my masculinity." So? Doesn't mean you have to wear Pink. Sheesh.

Pink shirts are OK as long as you wear them with matching crocs.
Link Posted: 11/2/2006 10:10:09 AM EST
IM going to be buying a pink dress shirt.... White cuffs and collar... Its not hot pink, but doesnt look bad at all. Pink isnt just for girls you know.

I have seen pink on some guys that can pull it off...on others it is completely ghey.....and salmon is a fish, not a fashion. I havent worn anything with bright colors since the mid 80's...when it was cool. Earth tones here...pink is kinda teh ghey.

Nothing wrong with light pink. Barbie doll pink is a different matter.....
Link Posted: 11/2/2006 10:12:52 AM EST
Meh, I've worn pink before. My wife picked the shirt out.

I have this sneaking suspicion she wants me to look stupid so when I'm not with her, no girls will hit on me.

I love my girlfriend. We go shopping for shirts for me and she looks at the pink and the purple and she asks why the heck would a guy would wear that, and makes the "ew sick" face.

Link Posted: 11/2/2006 10:15:49 AM EST

Pink is just a color. Should women avoid wearing blue?

I have done it before. It wasn't just to aggravate people like you but that is an added benefit and my explanation to you would be "noneya".

Just say "No" to pink shirts.
Link Posted: 11/2/2006 10:19:13 AM EST
I have two pink Polo button-down shirts that look quite good on me, thank you very much, and while I feel no need to have to prove it, there is less gay in me than there is air on the moon.

Those who don't like it are invited to look elsewhere.

I just bought a salmon dress shirt.

eta: I call it "salmon", because it has just a bit of orange in the hue, as opposed to "pink" which is just a lighter hue of red.

11 ppl voted yes
Link Posted: 11/2/2006 10:21:36 AM EST
Interesting responses. I wonder if I changed the question to read "Would you wear a pink shirt to a shooting range" if that would change the answers. Or is work the only acceptable place?

no pink for guys

but peach would be OK

It's a color! Who cares!

I don't know how many minutes I'll live before I die, but I'll be damned if I'm going to waste one minute being bugged about what color shirt some guy is wearing. I just don't care. But those precious moments could be used for other good things, like post-whoring.

What???? Hmmm... Nope. Couldn't do it. Yellow is pushing it. Unless it's for pie. Then I've been known to rent my soul.

This reminds me of the looks I get when some people have flipped though my iPod.

"You listen to BARRY MANILOW and NEIL DIAMOND?"

Yes. I also listen to Phil Collins, Frank Sinatra, Guns & Roses, Def Lepard, Eminem, Will Smith, Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias, Drowning Pool, Dope, Voice of the Beehive, Alan Jackson, Alabama, Thomas Dolby, Pink Floyd, and Barbara Streisand.

If you don't like it, get your own fucking iPod and fill it full of whatever YOU like.

Yeah, but with an Ipod, it's your business, you are the only one that has to listen to it (unless you're blaring it all over with some speakers). With a pink shirt, I have to be blinded by it on a regular basis. Yes, it's petty, I admit. But I'm ok with that. Just a pet peeve of mine (like everyone has) that some apparently don't share. Kind of like the Croc thing. Except that's way worse.

While we're (somewhat) on the subject of what constitutes "ghey", I walked into a local Lowe's today and there was a gentleman waiting for his wife or something. He had on a fanny pack.

Immediately looked at it: zipper across the back edge, small loop of paracord in one corner.

I felt like walking up and saying, "Hi! What make and caliber?"

Reminds me of the bumper sticker I had on the 1984 Plymouth Reliant station wagon I drove when I was in high school.

"Don't laugh, you're daughter might be in here."

Maybem unlike you, they are secure in their sexuality. My wife thinks I look great in my pink shirts, especially in the summer when I have a tan. People who think only fags and posers wear pink are nitwits. I

I have a pink Polo shirt I ware from time to time.

I always get positive comments on it from my wife as well as
other ladies.

Pink's not ghey if worn by a man who is not insecure.

The pink shirt hides the 1911 in my belt pretty good too.

I have a dress shirt that is more light purple than pink.
Always gets compliments.

Hey, guys: If the shirt is black but has "I am gay" screened on it, is it less gay, or more gay, than a pink shirt?

I have two pink dress shirts (via the wife). One of them is to worn out, so I really should toss it. The other I will wear with a certain suit and tie for certain occasions.

She thinks I look good in it.

I don't think pink looks good on guys, period.
Link Posted: 11/2/2006 10:55:36 AM EST
I wear my pink shirts because pink reminds me of bewbies.

I don't have bewbies. My wife does.

If I had a pair of my own I would still wear pink but then I would play with my own bewbies all the time.

Yeah, because that's what I said. You sound a little defensive. I was just mentioning a pet peeve. Like idiots driving slow in the left lane. And, dressing a boy baby in pink, for example, isn't GENERALLY accepted practice. Sooooooo, when does that change?
Link Posted: 11/2/2006 10:58:52 AM EST
I refuse to wear purple shirts as well.

Pink is for hunting flamingos.

Dave.

Light pink dress shirts can look nice with a good tie or worn with a nice suit. You can get away with a decent looking polo shirt too.

For the most part, I think the ladies kinda like it.
