Went to the hospital this morning.  I now have a tube coming out my side.  One end is in my right kidney and the other goes into a bag.

Tomorrow morning I go back and the doc will remove my 22mm kidney stone.  Fun, fun, fun.

Hey, look on the bright side: Your a Cyborg for the next 24 hours.

I feel for you on Kidney stone, I had an 8mm one and thought I was going to piss out my spine when it passed. If you don't already have one, get yourself a good filter for your drinking water. My doc told me he won't touch tap water after some of the studies he's read tying some of the minerals in it to the development of stones.

EDIT: For clarity, they used ultrasound to break mine up. I didn't piss out an 8mm rock.

I don't know much about kidney stones, but 22mm sounds freakin huge.

Best of luck.

Don't mean to make light of your troubles, but when I saw your thread title the first thing I thought of was South Park, and the gnomes going "Phase One: collect underpants" . . .

Hope all goes well.

Thank God for the development of procedures to take care of stuff like this.  Imagine back in the 'good ole days' when people just had to deal with it?  F that!

Here's to a speedy recovery!

Been through the exact same thing for a 1.1cm and a 1.0cm.  Not fun.  Make sure your urologist isnt a ham-handed fuckwit or they can damage the UPJ, making things much worse.

Unfortunately, it will be broken up in the removal process.

If it could be removed intact it would make for a great Crocodile Dundee moment: "Ha! That's not a kidney stone.  THIS is a kidney stone!"

The did an ultrasound on my 9mm stone and I got to piss out a 4mm fragment.

Took five days. Also had a bad reaction to the opiate pain killers which sent me back to the ER three times, twice for pain and once for dehydration (couldn't keep anything down wife was feeding me gatorade by the tablespoon). Got to pass that 4mm fucker on nothin' but Aleve. At work. Which sucked.

22mm is fucking huge though. Jesus.

Get that CT reread. I think your uterus is prolapsed.

HOLY BIONIC FUCKMUFFINS!

I've passed 4 stones without surgery or intervention.  The last one shredded my bladder and my urethra.  Pissed out nice little pink chunks for about a week.  Docs said I'd be fine so long as I didn't develop a fever, which I didn't.

I've passed some beasts.  I mean real mean, nasty bitches, some of which were 30+ straight hours with no access to pain meds.

I can't even imagine what a 22mm stone must feel like.

I am at a loss for words about it.

During my annual physical in November my doctor said, "I was looking back through your chart and that CAT scan you got when you had appendicitis showed a kidney stone. I think we need to check on it"

I'm like because that was 3 - 1/2 years ago.

I've passed two...or maybe one in two chunks. I don't know exactly how big they were, but they scratched my pee-hole both times, and I heard the plink in toilet after I felt them go. That feeling of being blocked up and always needing to piss sucks too. Never went to the doc, but I did a bunch of research and knew what to look for so I wouldn't die, or do any permanent damage to my pee-pee.
