I have had Terminix and now Orkin doing my home for the last few years. I don't see much of a difference to be honest. I have a fear of spiders, so I thought this would be a good idea...but I see as many as I did before the services started.

Do you treat your home yourself and if so what do you use and has it made a difference or has  anyone had success with the quarterly treatments from the commercial big boys?

Orkin took good care of a nasty fire ant problem when I lived in Louisiana.  Terminix has taken good care of a black ant problem.    But, these were all inside problems.

If your spider problem is indoors, they should be effective, and if they aren't, just start calling them out every week til they get tired of losing $$ on you and start fixing the problem.

As for outdoors, I don't know if they are helpful or not.

We have a local guy treat ours for spiders. We still have a few spiders here and there and what seems a huge amount of them right after he treats. He told us we would see more for about a week, then only a slight few after that.
I believe it is worth the money spent as lilGH was getting bit alot and having some reactions to the bites. After the treatment, no more spider bites.

ETA, the guy who did ours, sprayed inside the house and put granules down outside the house, including around the porches, I never seen a spider on the porches again until the granules were gone. We treated last summer and this spring was the first I noticed spiders again.
