Tomorrow night, 6/30/12 I'll open Lodge for the last time as WM. After routine business we'll hold an election and install new officers. I'll than pass the hat to the new guy and join the ranks of Past Masters. We have quite a few PMs active in the Lodge.

In this Masonic year I have done 4 EAs, 5 FCs and 3MM degrees. Seems like every meeting we had either a degree to put on, a ballot or a petition. Some nights 2 of the three.

With my wife dying in February the Brethern really stepped up and took care of me and the Lodge. They did a great job supporting me at home and in the East. I can't say enough to thank them.

Look to the East my Brethern.

Now you can sit on the sidelines and say, 'I never did it that way when I was Master.'    Congratulations!

And my condolences on the passing of your wife.

Sorry to hear of your wife's passing, Brother.

Past Masters in our neck of the woods are really well-regarded.  It seems like they are the guys who really keep things going, there at every meeting, etc.  In our lodge specifically, the outgoing WM becomes the Tiler for the next year, so the poor guy can't even wear his fancy PM apron for a year.

I had no clue about your wife, Brother. Sorry to hear.

Congrats on being a PM. My Lodge gave me a ring my first year and a pin the second. I bought my own apron. I'll likely get another, not exactly pleased with this one.

The only advice I can give is to enjoy yourself on the sideline, help out where you can, and remember that you aren't Worshipful Master anymore.
