I know arfcom has a lot of knowledgeable people and I wanted to get some feedback on this part list I have been researching for my first build.

This computer will only be used for gaming and my budget is around $2000.

I am trying to get the most bang for my buck on this build, so any and all recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks GeorgeInNePa for responding in your thread, I just wanted to try and get some more feedback as to pros and cons of this build.

Looks pretty good to me, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable me can give you more info. I'm only here to comment on the monitor. It is the same one I went with. I liked it so much I have two. I use it for all my PC and console gaming. You won't regret going with that one.

Thanks for the input, that monitor had great reviews and a fellow member went with it in a recent build so I jumped on selecting that one.

No speakers?

Also, why Win7 over Win8? I'm under the impression that games are smoother on 8 now.

I already have really good speakers actually. Also, I was told 8 has a bad interface.

So mainly aesthetic and its a bit cheaper.

Also, if the sound is shitty i will save up and purchase a sound card and higher quality speakers.

Are those recommendations mainly to drop the price a little?

More trusted motherboard manufacturer

faster SSD (over time/usage) also somewhat more reliable.

Faster RAM

Powersupply that will actually be used (load) in its optimal range.

Case with better cooling (if not the best in its class)

Videocard: lower price with similar performance, money saved an be put towards a new graphics card down the line.

Don't buy a sound card. You won't get any better sound. I just stick with my gaming headset, personally.

If you have high quality headphones you will notice a huge difference with a sound card. I could never go back to on board sound again.

Meh. At best it just amplifies the sound. I don't think there is a sound card that exists that enhances the quality of the sound itself better than onboard.

You don't need to spend $97 on a wi-fi card. Grap a TP-Link and you will be good to go in that department. I would go with windows 8. It really isn't that big of a deal to learn. Just different names for older features. Your system is geared for long term compatibility. I would think sooner rather than later, you will want 8 as that will be what most games are optimized for. I would also go for the i7..... Just thinking long term!

i7 is a waste of money for gaming.
