Many years ago, I was awake and heard a thud on top of my home I was living in. It walked down the roof and then jumped off of the house onto the front wooden porch. When I heard the footsteps, I immediately looked out the front window. There was nothing there. No. I was not using drugs. Before that, me at work, my GF called me hysterical saying that somebody was in the house ( She was in the shower at the time ) and was terrified. No one was in the home. All doors locked. You folks ever had weird things like that happen to you? I once woke up in sheer terror in the dark knowing something was there in the darkness but could not see it. I do not want anyone posting BS in this thread. Just let me know if any body else has ever experienced weird occurrences similar to my life experience. |

The house I lived in until I was 13 was an built in the late 19th-Century. I experienced all kinds of odd stuff there. Residual sounds. Doors opening. Objects moving. A bed shaking. Feeling someone sit on my bed. There was a staircase over my bedroom (a converted closet). There would occasionally be the sounds of footsteps on the stairs. One night, I heard the steps, I ran out of my room, and snapped a pic of the staircase. A third of the pic is a smoky/foggy anomaly. Is it a defect? The flash reflecting off something? Or a ghost? I was a bit obsessed with the paranormal back then, though. Sightings, Unsolved Mysteries, The X-Files, etc. were my favorite shows. Now, I'm a skeptic. I've been to many "haunted" locations and not experienced anything. |
| I would wake up to someone on the roof. It would move back and forth. First I thought it was in the attic. Went up there and it was on the outside on the roof. I could clearly hear the walking around back and forth, something was up there. Went out and I could see a silhouette blacker than the pitch of the night sky. It looked like someone sitting on the top of the roof but I couldn't make them out. I went in and got a flash light. It was 3 or 4 turkey vultures camping for the night. |

I checked into a room at the Windsor Court hotel in New Orleans, can't remember exactly but it was either room 212 or 224. I am in the bedroom getting ready for bed, absolutely sober, and I sit on the bed and look in the living area where there was a table and 2 chairs. The chairs are pushed up under the table. One of the chairs slides back and turns around facing me in the bedroom. It was like someone pulled the chair away from the table and turned it facing me so they could sit and look at me or talk to me. I slept just barely that night and slept with all the lights on in the room. Had stuff happen at our house like drinking cups come out of the kitchen cabinet and get thrown into the living room while we were watching TV. A few other things have happened in our house but the hotel experience was the main one that proved to me we arent alone on this rock, there are things we cant see or understand. |
| Yes, recently. In January I was hospitalized to have emergency spinal surgery. I kept having something touch my face. It wasn’t subtle and would wake me up. I asked Jesus for protection and it stopped. The next two days I slept in peace. My wife looked it up and that hospital is known to have three or four rooms in a specific spot to be haunted by a nurse that worked there years ago. Mine was one. |

When I was 14, I heard the sounds of a person walking around my parents house upstairs for a few minutes. When I stood up and made a sound, it stopped briefly, then started walking again. I still get a chill/goosebumps when I think about it. I actually grabbed one of my father's guns, loaded and charged it, grabbed our cordless phone and went in the front yard. I called my parents and told them what was going on. They called the resident state trooper. He came over with another cop from the next town over. They searched the house. Nothing. My parents came home and everything was ok. Side note: Back then, in the 80s, they didn't even really react to me in the road with a rifle in my hands. I apologized to them, and they said, that's what we're here for. All these years later, I still know what I heard. It was moving in the correct pattern of the upstairs of our house. It was a new house. |

| It happens every night of my life for the past 50+ years. Within 5 minutes after I get into bed, "something" sits on the edge of the bed. I feel the movement of the mattress, and I feel the angle of the mattress slope into the direction of "whatever" is sitting there. I have never been harmed by this entity. I believe it may be a guardian force or angel. I actually anticipate it. This is the first time I have ever shared this with anyone. |

I worked at an elementary school where shadow people and poltergeist activity was very common. Activity tended to fuck with people who were kinda shitty and would just "pay a visit" to everyone else who was okay, cool, or good. The Black and Hispanic staff HATED any activity. Our Hispanic cleaning night crew had a separate contract at the school to leave a 6 p.m. and return at 5 a.m. to finish their work to avoid any night issues. The area was about the worst for the area, so I don't blame them for not wanting to be there at night. Very grateful students never seemed to notice (that we about) and the staff kept it pretty quiet. Never experience anything before then or since. Place was/still is wild. I'll elaborate more if anyone is interested. |

Not me. At 7 or 8 years old, my mom swears I came out of my bedroom to the living room, well past my bedtime. I did not. I was fast asleep. I don't sleepwalk. She doesn't drink, use drugs. She's not nuts. No idea. I haven't seen anything odd. Edited for clarity. This happened while I was a child. |

I think I have. I used to think that stuff was 100% nonsense, but after living in this one house for a few months, I now think it is 99.5% nonsense. That arbitrary fraction of a percent still represents a big change in my position though... Towards the end of a two year tech school program, I rented an old house on a farm with a few friends from school. I felt very uneasy the moment I stepped inside, but I couldn't really attribute it to anything. It just felt like I really shouldn't be there. The moment I'd step outside, the feeling would disappear. The feeling was a lot stronger in one room. I had the house to myself for the first few days. That first night almost slept in my truck out front. It was tgat bad. When my friends moved in, it didn't get any better. That weekend we had a party out there, and I casually mentioned to a friend that didn't live there that I thought the house might be haunted. I expected him to laugh it off, but indtead he said that he thought so too, and he described the exact same things I felt. He'd only been there for about an hour at that point. We brought that up to one of my roommates, who said he felt the same thing. A few other people later on would say similar things. We wouldn't say anything about it being haunted, we'd just ask them to go into different rooms and tell us what was different. They'd start out confused, but everyone would say the same thing. They felt like they shouldn't be there, and that it felt the worst in one particular room. In addition to that, I don't think I slept through a whole night without bolting awake and feeling like I was being watched. That shit got old fast. I think that there are possible boring explanations to what I've described so far. The one I can't explain is the kitchen light turning on by itself one evening. Three of us were watching a movie on the other side of the house when we heard a click and saw the light turn on. We were the only ones in the house, and the switch was up. I still think most stories about haunted places and paranormal activity are easily explained away. People just let their imaginations run wild. I just don't think it is all like that anymore. |

I don`t talk much about this subject but with only close friends. I won`t get labeled a "nutjob" with them. They have known me for years. One close friend ( Very close ), said her Dad used to come and sing to her. She was eaten up by cancer. Her Dad was long since dead and she died about a few months later of it. God knows I sincerely miss her. |

Another quick story. One evening I was on a lake fishing with two friends. One of them is actually the one that I first mentioned thinking that the house was haunted in my earlier post. We noticed a light emerge over the trees on the shore. It was hard to judge distance, size, and speed. Just a silent point of light that was soon joined by a few others. Forget the fish. This has my undivided attention now.... It turns out that they were fire kites. Little tissue paper parachutes with a candle underneath. One of them landed about 20' from the boat. There was a solid minute there where I thought that I might have an alien/ UFO story to go along with my haunted house story, but this resolved itself quickly. I still don't know why that kitchen light turned on..... |

When I was a boy, maybe 7, I woke up in the middle of the night to a woman standing over me. Here movements were like she was trying to tuck my covers. It scared me pretty bad but I didnt scream or anything, I just closed my eyes. When I opened them again she was gone. My dad was mean and he got angry if I did anything that woke him up so I just laid there and fell back asleep. When I was around 16/17 I told that for the 1st time to my grandma. When I described the woman, she told me it was her mother who died right after I was born. When I was 10, my grandpa died. We were at his house (cancer) and went home a few days after the funeral. Not long after we got home I woke up during the night and he was sitting on my bed. It looked like he was putting his shoes on. It too scared me and again I just closed my eyes. Ive wished many times I had of said his name to see what happened. Probably that sane year, my uncle and I (he’s only a year older) were running in grandmas house and as we rounded the corner leading into a hallway, a hand reached out as if to stop us. No one was in the house but us and only I saw it. My son is 12, when he was around 6 he walked into the living room from the kitchen and looked down the hall towards the bedrooms. As he dud, he said “mama?”. I asked him what he saw and he said a woman he thought was mama. She was upstairs. Maybe all of these were just dreams and eyes playing tricks but they all seemed very real. The hand in the hall was the last one I experienced. |
