I think it's mandatory in Texas to like em ![]() But any Pantera fans? |
|
That actually wasn't too terrible. |
|
This cd is brutal. Pantera was a band that should be taken as a whole, though. Listen to them all! |

Cowboys From Hell is one of the best metal albums ever. In a genre of music that was saturated with great guitar players, Dimebag was in the top 5 in terms of technique and innovation. I never got to see them perform live. I went to a Drowning Pool concert, New Year's Eve of 2001. Dimebag played onstage with Coal Chamber. He was an unannounced guest. |
| My band played a show with Damage Plan right before Dimebag was killed. Still have one of the tickets from the show. It may be worth money someday. Phil lives on the Northshore (Hammond or Mandeville,La.) I believe. Pantera was the firat concert I've ever been to. Dimebag was a guest on some radio station and they were giving away tickets. They said they ran out before they took my call but Dime saw to it that I got a pair of tickets. He was really as nice a guy as his reputation says he is. I just think it strange that he was the guy who gav me tickets to my first concert and then 13 years later my band is opening for his band and he's killed just a couple weeks later. |

Quoted: I enjoy them, too. I also like Phil's new(er) band Down. Does it taste like tequila or failure? Believe it or not DOWN has actually been a band since 1990. My opinion is that in their prime PanterA were one of the most exciting and tightest metal bands in history, and I lost count of how many times I've seen them perform. Dime was a friend to everybody and I miss seeing his smile and hearing him laugh....he would liven up every party and the parties he threw were off the chain. The funnest days were the original Tattoo Bar era, they were on fire and New Orleans was like DFWs sister city, all the bands would play each others city and it was a blast–– So many good people/times. I don't think I've been the same since Dimes memorial service and I still leave a bottle at his old house on occasion. RIP DIME! Oh Ya, I still have the newspaper article for the Fair Park riot show that I may or may not have instigated |

I was wondering where you been, I actually searched your name yesterday because I haven't seen you post for so long. Figured out you were alive and posting, rock on! ![]() |

Every time I engaged in under aged binge drinking....Pantera was there.
Every time I banged some tattooed skank at a party on a filthy floor.....Pantera was there. Every time I thought it was a good idea to ride my bike on a half pipe while drunk.....Pantera was there. You get the idea. R.I.P. Dimebag. |

I remember when that shit came out I was a junior in High School. I was a hardcore/punk kid and loved this fucking album. |
|
Only saw them once back in early 99 when sabbath reunited for the first time. Pantera did a shorter set because they were the middle act ( seriously Deftones opening?wtf were people thinking?) Pantera ripped, Dime was truely one of the greats |
