This. Hi Point missed the fucking boat big time.

I’ve got a handful of custom pistols, I don’t think I’ve bought/built a gun under $1k in years, and I wouldn’t even use a HiPoint as a drop piece... but I’d damn sure buy a Yeet Cannon 9 and use it frequently. There’s a 100% chance I would gold inlay the Yeet Cannon engraving, too.

This is only funny if you've been watching the hilarity on Instagram that started with Hi-Point asking their customers what their new gun should be called. Yeet Cannon was the overwhelming winner, to be marked at YC-45. Then Hi-Point said they wouldn't use that name, so HK's Social Media Girl (SMG) called them out and offered to do a photoshoot with the YC-45 and the Mark 23. This is every other gun company publicly making fun of Hi-Point, and it's fantastic.

A history lesson for boomers still confused by the terminology and usage of yeet.

There's some controversy over when the first yeet was yeeted, and when the first yeet cannon was deployed.

Some say the Spartans yeeted at the Persians at Thermopylae, however Leonidas obviously had no cannon present. The minutemen who gathered at Lexington and Concord most certainly yeeted, however, it is unclear whether the continental army holding Bunker Hill and Breed's Hill yeeted at the British regulars. At least one historian asserts that Major General John Stark, King in the North, yeeted in the general direction of General Howe during their attack on his position, however, there is no record that a yeet was yeeted in contemporary documentation of the battle. Also, though cannon were present during that battle, yeeting was only commonly employed by infantrymen of that time, particularly during bayonet charges.

In 1831, Mexican authorities lent the settlers of Gonzales a small cannon to protect themselves from Comanche raids. In 1835 Colonel Domingo de Ugartechea, the commander of all Mexican troops in Texas, felt it unwise to leave the residents of Gonzales with a weapon and requested the return of the cannon.

They responded with a single word, YEET!
