I've got a truck with a 5 pin wiring connector and a trailer that has a 4 pin plug.  Can I just plug the 4 pin in the 5 pin connector?  The trailer doesn't have brakes so I don't have to have the 5 pin on the trailer side.

go ahead and try it. just test the tail light, brake lights and turn signals and see what's going on with the trailer before using.

you can get a 5 to 4 adapter at autozone cheap.. You can try to plug up the 4 to a 5 pin but it may not line up the way you want. Just by the pigtail adapter..
