I was wondering.... I've seen the tazer used in plenty of video clips online ( many links from here ) But I was wondering about the use of the "stun Guns" you know the ones that do not shoot probes into the perp to apply the voltage...ouch. But the hand held ones I see for sale over there and in Mainland Europe...I wondered if you zapped someone with one of those hand held devices and the victim touched you...would you get zapped too...? No. Electricity flows between the two points on the front of the "stun gun". Only that area of the body is effected. I like my old one, before we got Tasers, for getting people to let go of things, keeping dogs away from me (they hate the sound) and to get crowds of people to move (they hate the sound as well). Other than in these rolls they were useless. |

With the Tazer you can drive-stun someone two ways. A drive stun is where you physically touch them with the tip of the tazer. You can have the cartridge off and pull the trigger while touching someone and it will taze them. This is similar to a stun gun that you have seen before. You can have the cartridge on and do the same. This would be useful if you fired it at point blank or really close range and didn't get a good probe spread or if a probe missed. This would give you 3 points of contact and cause more effect on the person. I just got through going through all of my tazer training (we spend 10hrs on it). I also have access to instructor videos as well. |
