JackBurton,

First of all, THANKS.

It's good to hear from soldiers like you, especially you are going home safely. Those Pics of the guns you have is a dream of mine just to own but you had the OP to shoot them, maybe under crazy situations but you had that chance. Welcome back home safely.

I've always wondered this, but never could find an answer to it: Why is the back of the M240 grip squared off like that?

Oh, and I got $50 for the M2.

Nice weapons. I thought it was going to be a tec-9 and you were getting it taken away from the "incident" in Little China.

Thank you for serving this country and stay safe for the last 80 days, remember most accidents happen a mile away from home because drivers get careless.

The knife, that a Hissatu?
Link Posted: 9/12/2005 7:04:57 PM EDT
[#39]
Knife: Yep its a CRKT Hissatsu, as far as I know I am the only one around here who has one.  I like it because it designed for one purpose, killing human beings, and you have to admire the designer's single mindedness.  Plus I am a Japanese steel kind of guy, I'd carry a katana over here if I could.

As far as the guns go, if you like the issue stuff they gave me you ought to see the stuff we've picked up in insurgent raids and sweeps.  MP-40s, STG 44s, 1919A3s, PPShs, every kind of AK variation you can think of, Lugers, 1911s, P-38s, etc...  None of which I will get to take home.  Somewhere I have pics of the STG44, an RPD, and an SVT.  I'll try to find them and throw them up, I think I downloaded them when I was home on leave though.

On the para-saw:  Thats a standard saw barrel.  We got the short barrels but don't use them because its a backup weapon if the .50 goes down.  When you put a short barelled saw in a hummvee's pintle, the barrel doesn't clear the gunner's shield, and you can imagine how much that would suck in the heat of battle.

Our M2 is an AC Sparkplug from the 40's, I wish it could talk.  We have two with wooden charging handles!  Most of the rest are newer.

The Beretta:  Yeah, I know.  Mine runs pretty good only because I bought Mec-Gar mags and put Wolf springs in the ones they issues to me.  I tried to convince my CDR to let me bring my Colt Python, but he is kinda afraid of guns I think...so the M9 is better than nothing.

For the guys who left the BTILC comments.....
