I over extended my back yesterday while leaning forward doing some heavy lifting.

It hurts really bad today, very tense and painful. I am only semi-comfortable if I lay flat on the carpet and don't move.

What's the best OTC medication to help with this type of pain?

I took some Bayer Rapid Headache Relief (all I had handy in the house), but it's had no effect what so ever.

For OTC stuff?    Alochol works for me.

If you got some family that has some type of opiate painkillers that they can bring to you that is your best bet, short of going to the ER whick is what you should really do anyways.

An anti-inflamitory along with some Gatorade or other sports drink helps me.

If the pain continues tomorrow I will go to the Doc. I was only able to get about 4 hours of sleep last night, and even during that, I would wake up every 30 minutes.
