I am having a problem with Outlook. I can receive messages fine but my out going e-mails won't go through. I keep getting an error message (0x800ccc0f). It said to notify my ISP which I did. We tried turning off the firewall and that didn't work. I have been using this e-mail at work for a couple of years and never had any problems. Anybody have any suggestions or ideas. The ISP told me to call Microsoft .

I'm a 'scorched earth policy' kind of guy....there is probably a tweak you can eventually find to deal with the error....or....export your inbox (all of it) to a .pst file to save your data, then uninstall and reinstall the application.

good luck

Yes, pop and smtp are both suddenlink. The port and SSL are 110 and 25. At first I thought maybe the firewall was blocking the 25 port but I haven't change anything and it was working fine the other day. Don't know what to do.

Was it working and then stopped suddenly, or has it never worked?

If it was working (obvious next question) what have you changed?

It has been working just fine for the last couple of years. I don't know what could have changed. I sure haven't changed any settings. I did leave my computer on a few times all night and a Microsoft update might have occured. Would that change anything?

You could set your arfcom email account up as a secondary to test SMTP.  POP/SMTP are mail.ar15.com

If you can get that account set up and running but the other won't, you've narrowed it down to either your SMTP setup for the other account or something on their end.

The guys that run ISP helpdesk lines are not always what I would consider reliable, but they should see a LOT of Outlook.  They might as well have told you to go play in traffic as send you to MS though.

ETA- I wouldn't expect autoupdate to alter email account login behavior.. That would be pretty weird.  Weird happens sometimes, but best to check on the most logical stuff first.
