I need more ammo
I need to move the fuck away from people

I posted this in the other thread....I think the purpose of these books is to get you to think about what you need to survive a worst case scenario.

I got to page 150 or something like that, and put it down. Gotta a little bored I think, can't remember. I'll probably continue reading it again tonight.

ETA: I'm a picky reader with a short attention span.

Just one of many EOTWAWKI books; not sure why this one resonates so much with some people

Good read

What makes it really eerie is that I have spent allot of time in the places depicted in the book.

Old school ignition and manual FTW.

Audio book is on YT, converting it to MP3 now. Should be good for mindless day of pushing up topsoil piles.

OK book with lots of assumptions and extrapolations and some creative license.

But for entertainment purposes, it was a decent read.

I didn't need One Second After to tell me to move away from people.  People are pretty annoying these days.

Only a 13er would ask for cliff notes on One Second After.   There should be a waiting period for postings.

Evil book. Fucked up plenty of minds.

For those that have not read it: if you have less rounds of ammo than residents in your county or less than two years supply of food you are fucked.

Good book for worst case expectations.  Cities suck.

bought the book back on release date years ago when it came out. highly recommend it. good stuff if you're of the prepper mindset or enjoy disaster/post apocalyptic type fiction.

I was a good idea for a book, and the pro-America stuff was nice too.  But damn was the writing horrible.

the book over estimates what an EMP will do by a huge margin, most cars, planes and portable electronics will still work. It's the power grid, and anything attached to large antenna's that will get fried.
